When you reach the end of the interview process with a candidate, it is crucial to complete a thorough reference check. Remember to cover all the bases: former supervisor(s) - that's a given, but also consider speaking with a former colleague (for a collaborative / team oriented role), client (for any service-provider role) and direct report (for a leadership role).
